He is emblematic of his breed with a keen, curious intelligence. He adorably cocks his head and looks with a questioning expression when he encounters new things! Adopted: Monkey

Breed: St. Croix Island Dog Gender: Male Age: 3 months! Size: Currently 20 pounds, maybe 50 – 60 full-grown? Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Not yet tested Kids? Not yet tested Hi! My name is Monkey and I am such a happy pupper! History Monkey came all the way from St. Croix where he was a homeless pup, living in the end of a pipe at a dump. No Mama Dog was seen with him, we don’t know how he got there or what his history was but we are pretty sure it was sad. Some dogs are dropped off at the dump, some find their way there with other dogs, some are born there. He just showed up one morning, in that pipe, barking at anyone who came close to him. He was clearly scared and trying to protect his space. Two wonderful Dog Rescue folks,  Katie Nelson of…

You’d never notice unless you were looking for this! We rescued him from a shelter in rural NC, where the amazing shelter staff advocated against his being euthanized. He was unlikely to find an adoptive home there, but we knew we’d be able to find him a great home in the Ithaca area! Personality…

Hi I’m Harper, I love all people, new friends and old, men and women, children and seniors! History My background is sad. I was probably born with demodectic mange (the kind of mange that is not contagious to people or other animals). I had no medical treatment and was kept in a bathroom itching like crazy for months. This created a lot of infection and wounds on my skin and I had no relief. I was also very malnourished/super skinny and dehydrated. I got rescued and my rescuer immediately took me to the vet hospital, and they kept me for 3 days in order to get me stable. I am so grateful for that! But THEN…things got even better! I got to come home from the…

Adopted: Zoe – GSD

Quick Facts: Breed: German Shepherd mix Gender: Female Age: 8 months old Size: 50+ pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! (see Cohabitation) Cats? Yes! (see Cohabitation) Kids? Yes! (see Cohabitation) Hello!! My name is Zoe. I am smart, playful, and ready for adventure!! History In mid-March I started being fostered by a professional dog trainer with rescue experience who wanted to help me! She had heard that my then-family, who loved me and were very kind, were too busy with their 4 teenage kids to provide any of the training and daily activity that I need. Plus, the hustle and bustle of their home was just too overstimulating for a young pup like me! They didn’t know what they were going to do and didn’t want to surrender me to a shelter, so thank goodness that a local dog professional stepped up and said she would let me live with her…
