Barks, but not aggressive. Smaller Livestock? (Goats) wants to herd them. Abe- Amazingly optimistic St Croix Dump Dog! History “Abe”  arrived at the St Croix dump scared and timid,  He came to ‘Ruff Start STX” hero Katie Nelson to begin is long journey to find his human family.  Abe is extremely social, loves all the people he has met at his new foster home in Ithaca.  Not shy with humans at all anymore.  He reminds me of the book “Are you my Mother?”  He looks at everyone he meets as if to say “Are you my person?…” Abe has had many long travels to arrive in Ithaca, he does great in the car, either behind a pet barrier…

Adopted: Monkey

Breed: St. Croix Island Dog Gender: Male Age: 3 months! Size: Currently 20 pounds, maybe 50 – 60 full-grown? Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Not yet tested Kids? Not yet tested Hi! My name is Monkey and I am such a happy pupper! History Monkey came all the way from St. Croix where he was a homeless pup, living in the end of a pipe at a dump. No Mama Dog was seen with him, we don’t know how he got there or what his history was but we are pretty sure it was sad. Some dogs are dropped off at the dump, some find their way there with other dogs, some are born there. He just showed up one morning, in that pipe, barking at anyone who came close to him. Quick Facts: Breed: St. Croix Island dog! Gender: Female, spayed Age: 6 months old Size: 20 pounds now, likely to end up at 35-45? Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! 6 + Chickens/Birds? Sorry, no, she likes to chase them! Missy—wonderful puppy survivor from St. Croix!! **Missy is not a CDR dog but please fill out an application and it will be forwarded to her rescuers!*** History “Missy” and her litter mates were found dumped in a chicken feed bag in a remote area of national forest on St Croix, Sandy Point.  Horrifying. Luckily they were found and saved and are all now doing great! Missy was fostered in St. Croix by some wonderful folks who did a terrific job with her. They gave her tons of love, got her the medical care she needed (including treatment for a nasty abscess on her leg which is all better…
