Adopted: Zoe – GSD

Quick Facts: Breed: German Shepherd mix Gender: Female Age: 8 months old Size: 50+ pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! (see Cohabitation) Cats? Yes! (see Cohabitation) Kids? Yes! (see Cohabitation) Hello!! My name is Zoe. I am smart, playful, and ready for adventure!! History In mid-March I started being fostered by a professional dog trainer with rescue experience who wanted to help me! She had heard that my then-family, who loved me and were very kind, were too busy with their 4 teenage kids to provide any of the training and daily activity that I need. Plus, the hustle and bustle of their home was just too overstimulating for a young pup like me! They didn’t know what they were going to do and didn’t want to surrender me to a shelter, so thank goodness that a local dog professional stepped up and said she would let me live with her…

Adopted: Toby

Quick Facts: Breed: Beagle mix Gender: Male, Neutered Age: 7 years old Size: 40 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! Hi, my name is Toby and I am incredibly affectionate, loving and sweet-tempered! History I landed in a high-kill shelter in Kentucky. The shelter didn’t note whether I was found stray or had been surrendered, but the rescue folks are guessing that I had been lucky to have had a nice owner, but that maybe I got lost or maybe he/she died or had to go into a nursing home and there was no one to care for me. I clearly have been treated very well by humans because I LOVE humans, and I show no fears or concerns about people, dogs, or cats. I just smile and wag-wag-wag at everyone! Personality I am silly and sweet and incredibly friendly and very affectionate! I wake up every…

Adopted: Willis

Quick Facts: Breed: Beagle Gender: Male, Neutered Age: 10 years old Size: 35 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! Hi! My name is Willis and I am the cutest, sweetest beagle who just wants to hang out with you! History I was adopted from a Cornell research dog program when I was 9 months old. My new family had a young female dog who showed me the ropes of being a family dog since I had been housed full-time in a kennel when I was in the research program. It was so fun! I learned loads of things, but maybe my favorite was finding my Beagle bark! This took months and was so delightful (to everyone) when I found it! My doggie sibling was a bit food aggressive and bossy about her space, so sometimes she would yell or growl at me, but I’m an easy going…

Adopted: Bandit

Quick Facts: Breed: Bassett Hound/Beagle mix Gender: Male Age: 10-11 years young Size: 40 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! 5+ Hi, my name is Bandit, and I am the nicest, sweetest dog ever! History I was found abandoned on the street in Kentucky and was brought to a high-kill shelter. Luckily, I managed to hitch a ride on a doggie transport heading north to Cayuga Dog Rescue! Now I live with a foster family who is so kind to me! They feed me good food, take me on leisurely walks every day, and give me lots of belly rubs. I LOVE belly rubs! Personality I am super wonderful! 😊 My foster family always talks about how calm and sweet and friendly and lovable and adorable and easygoing I am! It’s so easy to be this way when life is so terrific! I love attention and affection,…

Adopted: Megan

Quick Facts: Breed: Schipperke mix Gender: Female Age: 12 years young Size: 20 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! 6+ Hi! My name is Megan, and I am sweet, easygoing, and insanely adorable! History I was surrendered to a high-kill shelter in Kentucky along with another senior dog– my people said they couldn’t take care of us anymore. He was named Charlie, and I was named Manson, which seemed to make everyone around us sad. We went to different rescues, so we’re both safe, but it was very sad to be given away and also to lose my best buddy. I was renamed Megan, which I think is lovely, and as I know my new name now very well, I want to keep it please! Personality I’m an incredibly sweet girl—friendly, easygoing, relaxed, and adorable. I have some good energy and feistiness too, which I am told…

Adopted: Roy

Quick Facts: Breed: Beagle mix Gender: Male Age: 12 year old Size: 31 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! Hi,I’m Roy, the most laid back, sweet and friendly Beagle mix around! History I was found as a stray in Central Kentucky. No one came looking for me, so after a little while, I was lucky to catch a ride up to the CDR foster program and my foster home in Ithaca! No one knows anything about my life before May, 2020, except that I was neutered, I’m sweet, friendly, relaxed, house-trained, and have great house manners (including “sit” via hand signal). Everyone’s guess is that I spent my former life as a loved indoor dog family member! Personality I’m a deeply sweet, very friendly, go-with-the-flow kind of a dog!! I really like every person and every dog that I meet… I am all friendliness, happiness and curiosity.…

Adopted: Jake

Quick Facts: Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Gender: Male Age: 12-14 months old Size: 31 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Most! Cats? Not yet tested, sorry! Kids? Yes! 12+ Adopted Jake is staying with his foster family forever! Hi! I’m Jake, and I am a SUPER smart, loyal, and affectionate boy! History and Why I Am Looking for a New Home Rough back story! One very cold night in February, on the shore of Oneida Lake, I think someone just dumped me. Very scary and confusing. I spent the next 36 days running in a 10 mile circle, visiting the same houses over and over, and so hoping that I would find my family again. It was tough times for me,filled with fear, cold, wind, rain, and snow. One man sent out his hunting beagles to “run me back, someone else threatened to shoot me if they saw me again, and…

Adopted: Zoë

Quick Facts: Breed: Shih Tzu Gender: Female Age: 3-5 years old Size: 12 pounds Good with… Dogs? YES! Cats? Not tested Kids? Yes! 12+ (I’m scared of quick movements) **Zoë has lots of application, hard to believe right? Please hold off for a couple of weeks to apply. Thanks!** Zoë I’m an adorable, joyful, playful but shy little pup looking for a loving home with another dog! History I came from a situation where the people weren’t very nice to me. And while I am absolutely loving learning now that people can be amazingly sweet and kind, I am still quite cautious and will cower or run and hide when humans move too quickly or reach for me (especially over my head). If people let me take my time, watch them from a safe distance, and then come to them when I’m ready, I feel much happier and safer, and…
