Jocco and Jackie are the epitome of “good boy!” and “good girl!”

History

We got the dogs when they were 4 months old. They’ve been great dogs the whole time. They started with us in an apartment and now live with us at our home with a fenced yard. We’ve never had any major issues with them. They really are great dogs!

Personality

These dogs are the epitome of “good boy!” and “good girl!” They are medium-energy,, and enjoy lounging around just as much as they do going for a walk or playing outside. They LOVE playing ball (see video)! Jackie could play all day, and she’d be the happiest girl in the world. She’s also super fast, and loves a good run! Give Jocco a high throw and he loves to jump up and do a twist while catching the ball in the air. They love chasing each other around the yard…they are very silly and cute and so lovable. They can also be very cuddly and affectionate!! Jackie still thinks she’s a lapdog (sometimes) and will come sit in your lap. Jocco just likes to be near people, so he might come lie at your feet or snuggle up next to you on the floor. They love their people, they are very loyal and sweet and happy and good-natured.

Both dogs like a mix of people-time and alone time, which is an awesome combination. They love their humans, but they aren’t needy and can entertain themselves and each other when their people are busy. They can get very excited when it’s meal time, (Jocco especially), but are still obedient enough to sit, wait, and only start eating once given the “okay”. Good dogs! Nice self-control. They are good listeners too, and take to training really well. We have trained them on the basics…sit, stand, walk, turn, paw, lie down, eat, wait, go, and they both learned that all with much happiness and enthusiasm. We don’t have much time to train them anymore, but they get really happy when they are trained—they love the attention, the treats, and since they are both smart dogs, they just seem to enjoy learning new things. Jocco loves to do dog puzzles, and he’s quite good at them! Jackie has her own strategy with the dog puzzles…she stands by and waits for Jocco to score the treats, and the ones that roll past him, she gobbles up with glee.

They are REALLY GOOD with kids. We have 2 kids under the age of 3, and these dogs are extremely tolerant and sweet with them, even with all the pulling, grabbing, and poking that the little ones do. The pups are well-behaved and have never had any issues with people, cats, or other dogs. They are even-tempered, good-natured, and friendly and happy as the day is long.

Why we are looking for a new home for Jocco and Jackie

Life has been incredibly busy, but now with dad having to travel all the time for work, it truly leaves no time for the pups. We want them to have full, wonderful lives and we know we can’t give that to them any longer. They deserve more and we aim to find that amazing new home that will be better for them than ours is now able to be.

Medical

Both Jocco and Jackie are in great health, neither has ever had any significant medical issue (apart from the occasional torn nail from running through bushes). Both will be up to date on vaccines, are on heartworm and flea/tick preventive, and are healthy and lively dogs.

Summary

Jocco and Jackie are truly great dogs. We’re hoping that their new owner(s) will be able to give them the time, attention and love they deserve. We would like to keep them together, as they have been together since birth, but would consider splitting them up in the right situation where there were already other dogs in a household. We don’t think either would take well to being an only dog at this stage of their lives.
