Adopted: Sabrina

Hi! My name is Sabrina and I am a lovable old gal! Quick Facts: Breed: Beagle mix Gender: Female, spayed Age: 14 years young! Size: 30 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Not yet tested Kids? 10+ History I was owned by someone way down in KY who was quite unwell and couldn’t take care of me. I developed a really severe skin allergy and had chronic otitis in both ears (painful!) which went untreated for a very long time. My ears got all swollen and have stayed that way to some degree. I suffered a lot for quite a long time and was very sad. Then my owner finally decided she could no longer take care of me, so surrendered me to a high-kill shelter, suggesting that they euthanize me. She thought I didn’t hear this, but of course I did. My heart broke. But! Then good things happened!…

Cats? Yes! Kids? 6+ History I spent most of my life with a lady who was not able to provide much care for me. She fed me well (too much actually), but didn’t have the resources to take care of my medical issues, and didn’t have the time or energy to devote much to me. Life is so good now, and I’m told it will be even better when I find my new forever family! Personality I am an exceptionally sweet -natured pooch. I…

Kids? 14+ ***Sasha is not a CDR dog and has not been evaluated by CDR.*** History My family adopted me from the Tompkins County SPCA two years ago; I was two years old at the time so I’m pretty sure I’m almost four years old. The SPCA was very scary for me and I barked and growled at everyone while in my room. When I met my people in a neutral area of the facility, they sat on the floor and were given treats to share with me and soon I was coming to them and letting them pet me. Then they got a toy and threw it for me and I was in love. When they…

Hi, I’m Bitsy and I’m a hilarious snugglebunny! Quick Facts: Breed: Chihuahua/Toy Terrier mix Gender: Female, spayed Age: 2 year old Size: 6 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Unknown Kids? Yes! History I landed in a very high kill rural shelter in Kentucky, missing half of my fur and with skin so red and raw it was painful to look at. Sadly, that shelter provides no medical care, so I lay there for weeks, itching 24 hours a day and feeling like my skin was on fire. Luckily, another KY shelter scooped me up before I was going to be put to sleep and brought me to their much better shelter, then contacted CDR and asked if I could come up to their foster program. Guess what? They said YES! It was a long ride but boy am I happy to be here, where not only am I getting…

Adopted: Buddy

Hi! I’m Buddy and I’m an incredibly sweet and loving little guy! Quick Facts: Breed: Mini Poodle mix Gender: Male, neutered Age: 8 year old Size: 21 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! History I came all the way from Kentucky and have a sad story to tell. My former owner was elderly and not doing well, and consequently, though she loved me, she didn’t take proper care of me. When she had to go and live in a hospital full-time, I was turned into a shelter, and was in sad shape. My skin and fur was a mess, and I looked like a raccoon with black circles around my eyes from the untreated eye infection that I had probably had for quite some time. Luckily, after hopping a ride on the Doggy Underground Railroad, I joined the CDR foster program and landed in a home with…
