My name is Forrest, and I am so incredibly loving and adorable you won’t even believe it! Quick Facts: Breed: Purebred Chihuahua Gender: Male neutered Age: 7 years old Size: 6 pounds! So small! Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? 10+ History I was adopted as a puppy by a nice older lady. She paid a lot of money for me and I have fancy schmancy papers detailing my lineage, which seems kinda silly to me! She was a nice lady, but when she got too elderly and ill to take care of me, she surrendered me to CDR which has been really cool! I was first fostered by a very nice lady and her family, and there were loads of other dogs and cats in the house—including some really big dogs which was a very new experience for me. We all got along just fine once I got…

Yes(best with females)! Cats? Yes! Kids? No experience yet! Background I was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky, and though the rescue folks have no idea about my past, they are pretty sure that people were not nice to me. I was sooooo very scared of people when I first arrived, but am confused and amazed to be finding out that people can be kind, and fun, and loving. I have been with my foster mom since Thanksgiving and I am slowly beginning to trust her, and this is a whole new, fantastic, amazing world for me. My foster mom says it is the most rewarding thing in the world to earn the…

I have lived with my owner for 9 years and we have had many adventures together. We have lived in a big city, in the country where I could run free and in an apartment near Cornell University. I am very adaptable. Several times I have lived with other dogs and I enjoyed that a lot. I even lived in California by the ocean with three other dogs. After their work our owners would take us to the beach for hours of running and play. That was an amazing year. 3 years ago my…

ADOPTED: Bozeman

Hi! My name is Bozeman, and I am the sweetest, friendliest, most chill dog around! Quick Facts: Breed: Black Lab mix Gender: Male Age: 6 years Size: 47 lbs Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Not yet tested but probably! History I landed in a pretty rough, high-kill shelter in rural Kentucky. I was running out of time (you know, we black dogs are always the last to be picked at the shelters), and then they found out I was heartworm positive. Uh-oh. It’s a fatal disease if untreated. For dogs who have families, it’s not so bad. They go to the doctor and get treatment. But for us homeless, family-less dogs, it’s a death sentence. Most shelters don’t have the resources to treat it, so with more homeless dogs than they know what to do with, dogs with medical issues are the first to go. So, that was…

Adopted: Jackson

It’s hard to say where I came from, but someone obviously cared for me at some point. I was found stray in the Ithaca area at the very end of June and luckily one of the neighbors there offered to care for me until my owners could be found. They put the word out online via FB, reported me to the local SPCA, and had me checked for a microchip (there was none) but shockingly, no one ever came looking for me. Cayuga Dog Rescue offered to take me into their foster program, and I get to keep…

Adopted: Wally

Quick Facts: Breed: Black Lab/Border Collie Mix Gender: Male, neutered Age: 8 years old Size: 50 pounds Good with… Dogs? Sorry, no! Cats? Sorry, no! Kids? Yes, 12+ Hi! My name is Wally, and I am a ridiculously happy, silly, fun loving 8 year old neutered male Black Lab Mix! History and Why I am looking for a new home I was picked up as a stray when I was about a year old, by a local shelter that had no facilities. All of us shelter dogs were chained up to a dog house with tons of food and water. That was the best they could do, and I appreciated their efforts, but it was incredibly cold outside, all through the winter. I was very confused and sad, and it was super hard for a young, athletic and super affectionate dog like me to be chained up 24/7. I need…

Adopted: Jack

Hi! My name is Jack and I am as you can see super adorable and add to that: a great exercise partner! Quick Fact Sheet: Breed: Cocker Spaniel Gender: Male, neutered Age: 7 years old Size: 23 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? NO!! Kids? Yes! ***Jack is not a CDR dog. Please contact by above phone or email to apply to adopt Jack!*** History: For 6.5 years, I lived with two other dogs and a small child but my family did not have much time for me and so I was frequently crated. They gave me to an older woman that had cats (which I don’t like) and who was unable to give me the exercise outlet that I needed. So I was then surrendered…
