History

I’m 5 years old now, and have been at Willow’s Wings since I was 1. No one knows what I suffered before I came here, but I was in rough shape when I arrived—I was very emaciated/ starving, only weighed 30 pounds, and was dripping with milk, though no sign of any puppies. Whatever happened to me, it was for sure traumatic and involved someone not taking even basic care of me.

Luckily, the Sanctuary … Continue reading

History

My mom adopted me from a rescue when I was about 1 year old. I came from North Carolina, where I was found tied up to a fire hydrant on a busy street. Kids were throwing rocks at me, but someone stepped in and took me all the way to New York so I would be safe! My mom adopted me right away because she saw how cute, smart, and sweet I was. Why I am Looking for a New Home

I was rescued from the streets of Tucson, Arizona when I was only 1 month old. I was very skinny and scared, but was nursed back to health by Tucson Cause for Canines. When I was 6 months old, my parents moved to Tucson and adopted me as a companion for their older dog Petunia!

Petunia and I became fast friends, and have shared many exciting adventures and afternoon snuggles together. However, I occasionally feel threatened by having to share my space with my sister (maybe due … Continue reading

Hello! My name is Dahlia (Dolly for short!) and I am the sweet-sweet-sweet!

History

I landed in a high-kill shelter in KY as a stray. Very bad luck for me, as many of the dogs there end up euthanized due to lack of space to house them or resources to care for them. But since I was clearly just the absolute sweetest dog imaginable, the shelter workers reached out to a rescue person in KY who reached out to CDR, and I got rescued! I am so grateful and am passionate about making every day a joyful one, and spreading happiness and smiles everywhere I go!

Personality

I am an extraordinarily sweet and happy girl who is typically pretty calm but has … Continue reading

History

In the Spring of 2013, a local Central NY dog rescue group rescued me from a high kill shelter in South Carolina when I was 9 months old. At the time, my current family was fostering dogs for the rescue group, and took me in as one of their foster dogs. I got along very well with their 4 year old male dog. We play wrestled, chased each other around the yard, and took turns fetching the ball. After a few weeks, my family decided to adopt me.

I am about 5 years old now, and … Continue reading

Hello! My name is Chloe! I’m an incredibly sweet, affectionate, (but shy/scared) Aussie mix girl!

History

My former life was rough and scary and left me quite shy and nervous about new people, new places, and unexpected sounds. Before being rescued, I spent some months chained up to a barn and ignored by the people who were supposed to be my people, and where I was before that was also awful, but I try not to think about it. I am thankful every day that the Cornell vet students who came to the farm where I was chained out, offered to take me from those mean people. And I am thankful that those people didn’t want me, and … Continue reading
