Quiche Lorraine

Breed: Labrador/Pitbull/Boxer Gender: Female, spayed Age: 3 year old Size: 70 pounds Good with… Dogs? Probably! With the right dog! Cats? Probably! See more info in Cohabitation section. Kids? Yes, 12+! Hi! My name is Quiche Lorraine, and I LOVE LIFE!!! History: I was adopted from a local SPCA in early May 2025. All that is known is that I showed up as stray, was adopted by a family who had several other dogs, and then was surrendered back to SPCA with no reason given. Then I got adopted by my current moms, and things have been much better for me! They have helped me start to trust humans, and feel safe with them, and they have introduced me to how fun life can be. I am very grateful. It turns out that their life situation isn’t going to be a fit for me long-term, but they are committed to…

Hayley

Breed: Lab mix Gender: Female, spayed Age: 12 year old Size: 70 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes! Please Welcome Hayley, our newest CDR rescue! Hayley is a ridiculously sweet, friendly, loving 70-pound, 12 year-old lab mix girl who needed rescue when her owner lost his home and had to move downstate to a senior facility. She has been with us for about a month, and she is really blossoming! She arrived with a host of normal, senior-dog medical issues that needed attention—she was overdue on all vaccines, had a very bad UTI, was quite overweight, was limping and achey all over, and had several broken teeth and a mouth full of tartar and inflammation. We’re on it and making good progress! Her UTI is already mostly cleared up, she is less achey all over and is limping less due to helpful pain meds and anti-inflammatories. Her…

Sorry, no, I like to chase them (and they don’t appreciate that)! Kids? YES! But not too many that are under 9 please! URGENT Johnny is being bounced out of his foster home through no fault of his own–he has been a perfect gentleman in the home and is wonderful with the other dogs in that home.  He needs to find a new foster home ASAP because the foster folks got a new puppy. They are feeling overwhelmed with the addition of a new puppy and fostering Johnny at the same time. ***Johnny is a Rainbow of Hope Animal Rescue dog. If you are interested in adopting or fostering him, please contact ROHAR via email at (sford@stny.rr.com) and they…

My name is June and I am the most gentle, sweet, adventurous, and smartest girl around! History Not much is initially known about me, but this is what I do know: I have already been through a lot in my life. I was found pregnant and roaming the streets in Texas last summer. After some very nice people found me, I moved to New York, had my puppies, and have been adjusting to life in the house since then. I was adopted by my current mom this past November and have lived in Ithaca…

My name is Fang, and I am a mellow, loving, and gentle Lab mix looking for my new family! History I had quite an impressive beginning to life! I was at a shelter in the San Francisco bay area at a time when the University of California Davis Veterinary School folks were looking all over northern California shelters to find the most agreeable and easygoing dogs for their veterinary students to learn how perform physical exams, draw blood, and other medical procedures. Guess what? They chose me as one of these special super-awesome dogs! I worked there for a…

Adopted: Charlie Bear

Quick Facts: Breed: Yellow Lab mix Gender: Male, neutered Age: 7 years old? Size: 90 pounds Good with… Dogs? Calm dogs, introduced slowly! Cats? No, sorry! Kids? Not a great match, sorry. My name is Charlie Bear! Though my life pre-rescue was scary and sad, I am an incredibly loving and good dog who I attaches very deeply to people who are nice to me. My deepest wish is to find an adoptive home that is loving, safe and kind (and that my stuffed animal lamb best friend can come with me!). History I was originally adopted from a shelter in Tennessee by a young couple. When they split up, she took me with her far away, as she was my official owner. Sadly, she was very unstable, and living with her was rough. Sometimes I didn’t have any food for long stretches. Sometimes I didn’t even have access to…

Adopted: Willow

Quick Facts: Breed: Treeing Walking Coonhound/ Black Lab mix Gender: Female, spayed Age: 1 years old Size: 60 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? 16+ only! Hello! My name is Willow and I love hiking with my person and playing with other dogs! Maybe I can join your pack? History I was found on Craigslist! My mom was a breeding mom of purebred hunting dogs, but she accidentally got pregnant by a Black Lab neighbor dog. I was one of eight puppies and lived outside in a kennel during a treacherous summer of storms. I wasn’t handled much and may have been a low pup on the totem pole with not enough access to food and water, as I didn’t really trust people when I was adopted and was very concerned about access to resources. My family has worked hard with a wonderful positive trainer to help me…

Quick Facts: Breed: Lab/Shepherd mix Gender: Male, neutered Age: Almost 3 years old Size: 95 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Yes! Yes! Cats? Yes! Kids? Yes, 6+! My name is Louie and I am a big sweet loving pup ready to be your new best friend! History I was born in the farm country of eastern Washington and was brought to a shelter with my litter as tiny puppy. At 12 weeks old I was adopted into my current home. We lived on a little farm but was not a good farm dog because I have a strong prey drive, including for the chickens on our farm. I did love living there though with my big yard and fence to patrol. My family recently moved me all the way across the country to New York to a small house. I miss my yard but do get lots of walks and…

Adopted: Bo

Quick Facts: Breed: Bassett Hound/Black Lab mix Gender: Male, neutered Age: 11 years old Size: 41 pounds Good with… Dogs? Yes! Cats? Unknown Kids? 12+ (I like a peaceful home setting) Bo is a super sweet, Hilarious little guy. History I lived with a man for the last 10 years of my life. Nothing bad happened to me there, but not much all that good either. Then my person got a girlfriend and she didn’t like dogs, so my person took me to a high kill shelter in KY where he lived. Super scary and awful for me. Luckily, a wonderful KY rescue person reached out on my behalf to Cayuga Dog Rescue, and put me in a temp foster home until they could have me driven by a team of volunteers up to central NY to join their foster program. I was really unsure and shy when I arrived,…
