History

I’m from a breeder in Kentucky. My mom adopted me at 11 weeks old to train me as a therapy dog. I didn’t end up graduating from therapy dog school because I’m nervous around men until they’ve gained my trust (you read the news these days, who can blame me?!).   My career over, I became a fantastic family dog!!

Personality

I am an incredibly affectionate, silly, goofy, fun-loving, happy-happy-happy boy!  I was a cwazy cwazy puppy, but since I turned 2 I’ve become an incredibly mature … Continue reading

Medical

Our veterinarian just found that he is heartworm positive, poor guy! Initial bloodwork suggests that he has mature as well as baby worms in his system, which makes treatment riskier. In order to evaluate the risks more fully, Orion will be seen by Cornell Cardiology on Monday Dec 11th for a cardiac ultrasound and chest x-rays. The findings of these tests will guide the type and pace of heartworm treatment that he will then receive.

History

I landed in a high-kill shelter in KY as a stray. Very bad luck for me, as many of the dogs there end up euthanized due to lack of space to house them or resources to care for them. But since I was clearly just the absolute sweetest dog imaginable, the shelter workers reached out to a rescue person in KY who reached out to CDR, and I got rescued! I am so grateful and am passionate about making every day a joyful one, and spreading happiness and smiles everywhere I go!

History

I’ve been with my foster family for a little while now and even though I missed my previous family at first, I’m embracing this new life. Someone dropped me off at a high-kill shelter in Kentucky and gave the nice people there my name, but no other details. I came with an up-to-date rabies tag, and didn’t show any obvious signs of having been mistreated, but my age put me on “the list.” After a week, Cayuga Dog Rescue saved my life. Thank you, CDR!

History

I was born in New Jersey and was found in a cardboard box in front of an animal shelter with the rest of my brothers and sisters. A sweet couple who live in Queens, New York adopted me thinking that I was a Dachshund… but I kept growing! I’m a very good boy and they have given me the best home and life that they could, sacrificing a lot as I require lots of outdoor time and they have no backyard.

Last summer I spent one … Continue reading
