History

I spent most of my life with a lady who was not able to provide much care for me. She fed me well (too much actually), but didn’t have the resources to take care of my medical issues, and didn’t have the time or energy to devote much to me. Luckily she agreed to surrender me to her relative so I could get into rescue, which is how I ended up in my AMAZING Cayuga Dog Rescue foster home! Holy moly! Life is so good now, and I’m told it will be even better when I find my new forever family!

History

My family adopted me from the Tompkins County SPCA two years ago; I was two years old at the time so I’m pretty sure I’m almost four years old. The SPCA was very scary for me and I barked and growled at everyone while in my room. When I met my people in a neutral area of the facility, they sat on the floor and were given treats to share with me and soon I was coming to them and letting them pet me. Then they got a toy and threw it for me … Continue reading

History

Hi! My name is Trent. I was found on the streets of Trenton, NJ (hence my name) as a stray on 7/31 by Trenton Animal Control, and was discovered by my rescuer at a local animal hospital on 8/1. She saw the state I was in and was so sad for me; the doctors informed her that I would go back to a shelter in 1 more day. I looked very skinny (I was only 59 lbs. and should be 75lbs!) and am very … Continue reading

History

I landed in a high-kill shelter in KY as a stray. Very bad luck for me, as many of the dogs there end up euthanized due to lack of space to house them or resources to care for them. But since I was clearly just the absolute sweetest dog imaginable, the shelter workers reached out to a rescue person in KY who reached out to CDR, and I got rescued! I am so grateful and am passionate about making every day a joyful one, and spreading happiness and smiles everywhere I go!

Personality

I am an extraordinarily sweet and happy girl who is typically pretty calm but … Continue reading

History

In the Spring of 2013, a local Central NY dog rescue group rescued me from a high kill shelter in South Carolina when I was 9 months old. At the time, my current family was fostering dogs for the rescue group, and took me in as one of their foster dogs. I got along very well with their 4 year old male dog. We play wrestled, chased each other around the yard, and took turns fetching the ball. After a few weeks, my family decided to adopt me.

I am about 5 years old now, and … Continue reading

History

I’ve been with my foster family for a little while now and even though I missed my previous family at first, I’m embracing this new life. Someone dropped me off at a high-kill shelter in Kentucky and gave the nice people there my name, but no other details. I came with an up-to-date rabies tag, and didn’t show any obvious signs of having been mistreated, but my age put me on “the list.” After a week, Cayuga Dog Rescue saved my life. Thank you, CDR!

Personality

Want to play? Want to cuddle? I LOVE that! I’m a playful little sweetie with a fun-loving personality, I am bursting with friendliness … Continue reading

History and Current Situation

Chloe’s former life must have been rough, as it has left her feeling quite shy and anxious when meeting strangers and when confronted with new sights or sounds. We know that she spent some months chained up to a barn and ignored by her most recent owners, but assume that her life prior to that was also scary and lacking in love and security.

Chloe has been in a wonderful CDR foster home for the past few months, and is finally starting to feel safe. When she first came to our foster program, she hid in the back of her (open) crate and … Continue reading

History

I was a part of my family for almost seven years, when my 1st mommy and daddy adopted me from the Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn, NY. I made the move to Rochester with them and I have been by their side (even at their wedding!) as they made the transition into becoming parents of two young children. As sometimes happens when the kids come along, their lives changed so much and I ended up being home alone … Continue reading
