Hello! My name is Niu Niu, and I am the most adorable, smart, sweet dog around!

History

I was born in a breeder’s home in Maryland in Jan. 2017. My mom and dad brought me home when I was 2 months old. I stayed with my family in Philadelphia for 2 years and then moved to Corning in 2018. I shared lots of golden days with my family and there were almost no bad memories. I have to leave them because my little human brother starts to have skin rashes frequently due to my hair.

Personality

I am a smart girl as I learned quickly during my obedience training in the puppy school. Now I understand the commands like “sit” “turn around” “high five” “stay” etc. and love to follow your instructions. Although I sometimes can still get very excited at outdoors, pulling my leash and wanting to hug everyone who smiles at me, I am improving with growing ages and behaves more like a real lady! It was a little bit challenging when I started to lose my baby teeth and wanted to chew everything at home. But I finally got through it and now I don’t enjoy chewing furniture anymore but only my chewable toys!

I am super affectionate and incredibly loyal to the family. I love to snuggle next to you on the couch when allowed, otherwise I also enjoy huddling up by your feet on the floor. I like belly rubbing, grooming and tickling. I close my eyes and lay my head on your lap if you whisper to me or fondle my head.

I am active and want to go for walk at least twice a day. But I am not so energetic as boys, I get tired if I do intense exercise for more than 30 minutes, like running or chasing balls. But you know what, I love the indoor football game with the family, I am the best door keeper ever and I never get tired of this game! One thing I have to say is I like to keep the ball or frisbee for my own, sometimes I don’t want to drop them off unless you give me commands to do so.

I have a hilarious sense of humor and love to entertain my family with silly antics. I sometimes tilt my head in confusion, as if trying to understand something, which is absolutely adorable to watch. I also like to goof around with you or the cat, when I feel a little bored. But I am always gentle and have everything in control, I just sign or lower down my head if you want to stay alone. So, I am not a stubborn dog and can adjust to new environment quickly.

I may sometimes be a little protective to my toys and foods but not in an aggressive way. I am really quiet and never bark at any people or animal (maybe just 2~3 times in my 6.5 years of life). I greet everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile. I try to stay away from the dogs who seem to be defensive and noisy. I enjoy mild interactions with dogs like chasing each other around but I get really scared with intense activities like wrestling or fake bites.

Cohabitation

I love people and love to hang around with anyone who is friendly to me. I am friendly to kids, cats, dogs. But sometimes I do not enjoy playing with little kids so I just ignore them. I like to tease the cats and won’t get angry at all even if got slapped by them. I also ignore the small-size dogs, just like I ignore the kids! I am more willing to play with median/big size dogs, it has more fun!

Favorite Activities

  • Cuddling and brooming
  • Playing balls or Frisbee
  • Going for walks

Why I am looking for a new home

Our 3-year-old son has sensitive type skin and recently started to be allergic to dog hair.

Medical

I am very healthy and have never had any serious medical issues.

Summary

Niu Niu is an amazing dog with a heart of gold, and anyone who has the pleasure of spending time with her falls in love instantly. The ideal family should have enough time to walk and play with her on daily base. You should also be penitence to listen to her needs and sense her emotional changes. Although Niu Niu is not aggressive and we never had accidents with her, a family with kids smaller than 5 years old or dogs being defensive is not suggested. Niu Niu will be the best family member when everyone understands and respects her, and the best friend when the other side is gentle and mild as she is.
