History

I had the same dad for all of my 12 years until, sadly, he passed away. Although I miss him very much, I’m doing really well in my foster home where I have a foster dog sister and two foster bunny siblings. I also have two human foster sisters who love me very much. Sometimes they argue over who gets to sleep with me.

Personality

I LOVE mornings! This is when I have the most energy because mornings mean BREAKFAST!. You will be amazed at how fast I can be! After I go out and then eat, I’m as cool as a cucumber, relaxed and chill. I will try to convince you that I need to eat before going out to do my business, but don’t fall for that! If you let me, I might have an accident, and really, I can wait, I am just a little impatient for BREAKFAST!!!

I get along with everyone! I like being sweet to my people and sweet to the other pets in the house. It is true that if someone gets super excited, I do too, and then I might play just a titch too rough in that moment, but I can calm down quickly with a little gentle guidance. If my other furry house friends would let me sleep next to them, I probably would! I used to enjoy watching the bunnies, but they got boring for me so now I just lay in the sun next to their cage. Sometimes I just walk around the house wagging my tail because I’m always so gosh darned happy!!

Although I’m an older boy, I still love my walks, especially in new places. Since I’ve been on a special diet and am losing weight, I am getting slimmer and faster every day! Speaking of walks… I love making new friends–human and the furry kind!– and I have very good manners about it. I’m a sniffer, not a barker. Please be patient with me though, sometimes my arthritis flares up and I need to slow down. I love company, so much, but I’m ok being alone for a few hours at a time especially if I have another furry sibling to hang out with. When my people come home, I bounce around with happiness!

I’m pretty smart but I don’t know many tricks. My foster family is working on this with me but I just get so excited about the treat that it’s difficult for me to focus! I do tell them when I need to go out and do my business–I usually pace, bounce or stare at them when I’m ready!

I really just love hanging out with my people. I love riding in the car and am happy to go anywhere. Parks, playgrounds, cemeteries, anyplace that has a nice flat place to walk.

Cohabitation

I love everyone! Adults, children, dogs, cats, bunnies…you name it, I love them!

Favorite Activities

  • Belly rubs are the best!
  • I love food! But don’t let me gain weight as that is harder on my joints!
  • I really enjoy a daily walk so I can patrol the neighborhood and smell all the smells!
  • Sleeping with my people!

Why I am looking for a new home

My first dad passed away and now I’m looking for a new family to spend my senior years with!

Medical

I occasionally have seizures but am on medicine to help. I’ve had one since I’ve been living with my foster family but everyone seems to think it’s because of all the stress I was under. Losing my dad, new home, and visits to the vet all in just a few short weeks can be very overwhelming for anyone. I also have arthritis but have medicine for that too. I’m a champ when it comes to taking my meds. Foster mom puts it in my food and I gobble it right down.

Summary

My foster parents say, “Uno is a really great dog!! I’ve never seen a dog so easy going! He truly goes with the flow, he is perpetually happy! We will miss him so much when he finds his forever people, but we will also be so thrilled for him!”
