History
I’ve been with my foster family for a little while now and even though I missed my previous family at first, I’m embracing this new life. Someone dropped me off at a high-kill shelter in Kentucky and gave the nice people there my name, but no other details. I came with an up-to-date rabies tag, and didn’t show any obvious signs of having been mistreated, but my age put me on “the list.” After a week, Cayuga Dog Rescue saved my life. Thank you, CDR!
Personality
Want to play? Want to cuddle? I LOVE that! I’m a playful little sweetie with a fun-loving personality, I am bursting with friendliness and kindness and love! I love being where you are, going for walks, hanging out and watching TV, and laying on soft things with my people and the other dogs!
I like to sleep where it’s comfy. One of my favorite places to sleep here is in a soft-sided crate with a zippered flap these people call “Brown House.” It’s roomy, and they’ve put a big bed and soft sheets and a blanket in there. It’s like my own little girl-cave! They leave the door flap open, so sometimes I get snuggle buddies in there with me at night. As for daytime snuggling, after we all come back in from our morning jaunt outside to pee, we all pile on the bed and snuggle with the people! Wherever you want me, just pat the spot, and I’ll come right to it!
If you’re looking for a good companion with nice manners, that is me. Even though I like to play, I am a calm, even-tempered pup. I have a blanket that I like to nibble on and I love Nylabones, but I never get into anything I’m not supposed to. I travel well, so take me for rides in the car, take me to picnics at friends’ houses, take me wherever there is fun to be had and people to pet me! If you’re on the couch with a book or your favorite TV program, I will want to be close to you! I’ll nuzzle your hand to try to get you to pet me, and I’ll even roll over and show you my cute belly!
I’m a smart little sweetie. I know my name, I’m potty trained, and I love to learn. I enjoy hanging inside and also being outside. I’m excellent in the car, and though I am affectionate, I don’t love being picked up. Once I learn to trust you, I tolerate it, but I really don’t enjoy it!
The people here have a small fenced-in area that I do my business in (and where I like to lie in the sun), but I also really like to go for walks. I know exactly what the leash means, and I sit at attention and get very excited when it comes out!
Cohabitation
I am amazing with people! I love everyone I have met, and am sharing my home with 2 adults and one 9-year old girl. They all love me and I feel the same!
I am awesome with dogs! I am sharing my foster home with 5 small dogs who accepted me right away. There are a couple of seniors like me and a couple of younger ones–the most playful dog here is the one I like best! We roll and run around together, then we all get in a big puppy pile, which ultimately results in a lot of attention from the people!

Medical
I don’t have any health problems that I know about right now. I have good hearing, good vision, and an able body. I recently had my teeth cleaned, and I also had a fleshy little skin tag removed. I feel fit and fine and ready for my new life!
Summary
One look at my face, and one minute spent with me will show you how grateful I am for a second chance. I was a goner if I had stayed at the shelter even a couple more days and that would have been a real shame for a well-behaved lovebug like me. I’m not a puppy, but someone spent a lot of time with me in my former life, so the work has been done for you! If you have love in your heart and your home, soft places for me to lay, and good food for me to eat, I’m ready to be your forever friend. I am excited about this new chapter in my adventure, and new chances to make happy memories. Thank you to YOU and to CDR for seeing the value in my life!
If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, Rochester, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can’t do home visits where we don’t have local volunteers.
