History

I was found roaming the backwoods of rural KY and was scooped up and turned in by a nice person, who I am sure hoped that family would come looking for me at the shelter. Sadly, no one ever did, and since it was a high-kill shelter, I was in great danger. Luckily the shelter staff noticed that I was the NICEST little dog whose acquaintance they’d ever met, so they contacted the KY rescue lady they knew and she got me out of there and sent me up to join the CDR foster program!

Personality

I LOVE people. Seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE people!! The KY rescue lady promised that I was the sweetest dog ever, and that I was literally a “perfect” little pooch, and once I got up here everyone who met me said, “my goodness, it’s totally true!”

I have a huge smile, and I use it all the time! I smile and swish my tail with happiness when you pet me. When you talk to me. When you kiss me. When you call my name. Even when you just glance at me from across the room! My foster parents say that my face is very expressive, and it’s usually expressing joy or wonder or contentment! They also say that I have a goofy side which makes them laugh.

I’m a wonderful mix of perky (“sure, I’ll go for a walk with you!”) and curious (“I love sniffing every inch of the fenced yard!”) and mellow (“I’m so happy to chill and relax indoors with everyone!”). I’m very affectionate, and love snuggling and nuzzling up against you, and cuddling beside you, and receiving any and all affection and attention that you’d like to give! I’ also an expert napper!

I’m a smart little girl, and came to rescue knowing “sit,” and I do this cute thing—when you ask me to sit, I do, but also hold one paw up at the same time! It cracks my people up!

For unknown reasons, I ADORE going for car rides! My foster mom says that you would be hard pressed to find a dog who is as happy about going for a car ride as I am!

I am totally housebroken, and go to the door to tell you when I need to go out. I LOVE my fenced backyard, that would be so super if my adoptive home had one too. I am also totally good in the house when you are at work. I never chew on anything or mess anything up. I mostly just hang out and nap and watch whatever is going on outside through the windows!

Cohabitation

I LOVES the peoples!!

I’m totally fine with the toddler in my house, but truth be told, I like a calm household best, so would actually prefer a house without noisy toddlers.

There are 3 other dogs in my foster home and we get along really well, though I am a bit shy and a bit timid with them. I hang back and am extra polite to them, as if I’m unsure if they are going to be nice to me or not. My foster mom wonders if I might have been bullied a little bit by a dog in my past. I would do great as an only dog, and would also do great in a home with other dogs, but would really prefer to only live with calm, nice, non-rambunctious dogs if possible!

There is 1 cat in my foster home and I act like he is invisible. I have no reaction to him whatsoever, which makes me a very non-threatening dog to cats. I would do great in a home with cats—the cats won’t mind me at all!

Favorite Activities

  • Interacting with people!
  • Cuddling and snuggling with people! Taking naps with you!
  • Going for car rides with you!
  • Getting your positive, loving attention, in any way!
  • Sniffing around in the fenced yard! Going for leashed walks!
  • Yummy food!

Medical

I’m a super healthy girl! No issues to speak of!

Summary

I’m the hugest lover, and a very easygoing, very delightful, very happy and sweet little girl. I would love a home where I would get lots of people attention! I would be delighted to be your only dog, or to share our house with another sweet, calm dog (or two)! My foster mom says that too much commotion is not my cup of tea, so busy, bustling households aren’t the best fit for me, though I roll with whatever comes my way.
