Tucker

Hi Jean and Susan!

Hopefully all is going well in Ithaca and with the rest of your dogs.  Jessica and I just wanted to give you a quick update on Tucker and send you a picture or two from today (April 14, 2006).  Today was his first trip to our local vet, and he did an awesome job!  He got the last of his puppy shots and didn't even flinch, and didn't bark once during the whole visit.  We have him setup to go back next week to get neutered and micro-chipped, per the vet's recommendations, and he's lined up to take obedience classes starting in May.

One more update from the vet - Tucker is now weighing in at 53 lbs!

Tucker is finally settling into his new routine and is becoming much more acclimated to his new surroundings.  He loves going outside to play with the young kids next door, and has the sweetest mellow temperament.

Thanks again for all of your help, and enjoy the nice weather!

     Sincerely,
     Eric, Jessica and Tucker

UPDATE 6-27-2006

Hi Jean & Susan,

We wanted to update you on Tucker's progress!  He is doing so well and we just love him to pieces, although he requires lots of energy!  He is almost 75 pounds now and is starting to even out/slow down the growth (he was about 50 when we first picked him up).

We just completed the first course of beginner obedience and have started an intermediate class.  He just loves going to class and seeing all of his friends.  Agility class may be in the near future too, he's very...athletic!  He is still learning to "leave" the "toys" he shouldn't be playing with (pens, tissues, books, clothing, etc), and we are learning to be assertive/be HIS boss.

He is walking much better on the leash and is improving with the play-biting issue....he just needs lots of exercise to tire him out :)  We have been excited to see that lately he has been calm enough to just lay down and relax for a bit if we're watching TV, rather than constantly playing/etc.  Maybe a little bit of maturity
is creeping in :)

We'll attach some pictures from our camping trip to the Catskills last weekend (for the few minutes it wasn't raining) with some friends and their lab mix, Marley.  He had a WONDERFUL time and spent the weekend leading hikes and swimming in creeks & ponds.  Anyway, hope everything is going well for you and the organization. I'm sure Jean is busy with some new pups.  Let us know how it has been!  Have a great summer, and thanks again for your hard work!  We wouldn't have found such a great friend otherwise!!

-Jessica & Eric Bowerman
