Sara Has Been Adopted

Hi! My name is Sara, and I am a super friendly, super affectionate, and fun-loving, 1 year-old, 40 pound female Australian Cattle Dog mix! I love people and enjoy being petted and kissed and snuggled as much as possible. I have a great little happy energy and am enthusiastic about pretty much anything that involves you...going for walks, trotting around in a fenced yard, meeting your friends, meeting new dogs, going for a car ride...everything is a fun adventure to me, especially if I get to be with you!

I'm in a great foster home with 2 other dogs and I'm doing my best to charm them into being my buddy. I am not living with any cats, so we don't know how I am with them. I came without any housebreaking experience, but my foster mom is going to get me going on that right away. I walk pretty nicely on a leash, though when i see a squirrel or deer I take off like a shot, so that will need some patient work too!

I'm all waggly-tail pretty much all the time...well, I might have 3 seconds of being unsure when I first meet you, but once you crouch down and use a happy voice and pet me, I melt like butter, go all waggly-smiley, and am then your best friend.

We'll tell you more about me as my foster mom gets to know me better, but suffice to say that so far I seem a very sweet, friendly, happy girl, who wants to play, needs to get some nice daily exercise, and will make someone a fabulous, loyal, loving companion. I would be terrific in a home with other dogs too, as long as they are playful and friendly! If you think you might like to adopt me, please read about the adoption process today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
