ADOPTED!

Hi! My name is Bishop and I am an incredibly easygoing, sweet, and well-mannered, 6-7 year old, handsome neutered, tri-color Beagle. I was found stray, and after a stay in a regional shelter, came into my fabulous CDR foster home! It is fabulous because I have a great foster mom who gives me lots of love and care, but even more amazing is that there are tons of other dogs here! To say I love other dogs is a major understatement. I probably love other dogs as much as any dog ever has. I wrestle and play and cuddle with the big dogs, the little dogs, the males and the females, and am very submissive to the dominant dogs in the house which keeps the peace nicely. And I'm not just great with other dogs--I'm great with people too! The folks at the vet clinic said that I was one of the best behaved beagles they had ever seen. Aw, shucks! Speaking of good manners...I am housebroken, crate trained, am quiet and happy when riding in the car, and happily run into my crate for meals and when it's bedtime. I don't get up on furtniture unless invited, and am just all-around very respectful of all people and dogs. I do need some work on a leash, but am very food motivated so this should be a breeze, and like with all beagles I need to be on a leash or supervised in a fenced area at all times so my sniffing does not get the best of me. While I am delighted to get attention from people and dogs, I can also entertain myself very well with jollyballs outdoors and nylabones indoors. My foster mom says that I am as cute as can be and am a super relaxed, easygoing, easy to live with dog!

If you think you might like to adopt me, please read about our adoption process today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
