Hi! My name is Miss Piggy, and I am an incredibly silly, fun-loving, affectionate, exuberant, happy-happy-happy and wonderful girl!

Personality:

I'm an energetic, very sweet, loyal, snuggly, affectionate, fun-loving, good-times-having, joyful, enthusiastic, and occasionally rascally (in a good-natured way!) young pooch!

I love people! I think that everything you do is super interesting and super fun and I am so excited and happy to be a part of it. Whenever I meet new people I'm a true wiggle- butt and give big happy, delighted kisses!! I love being petted and having your attention and doing things with you! I am an outgoing, loving and loveable dog with a big gorgeous, happy personality!

I am very playful! All I really want in life is to play-play-play until I get tuckered out, and then I want to hang out with my human(s)! If you like to exercise outdoors –hike or walk or play in the park or play in your yard-- then I may be the perfect dog for you! I get SO excited to go on fun adventures, my enthusiasm is sure to make your heart fill with joy and laughter! In the summer, my favorite activity is swimming. Sometimes my humans refer to me as a water pig LOL!! I also love playing fetch and am fantastic at it...I can run SO fast and I always find the ball and bring it right back to you!!

I'm truly one of the silliest dogs you will ever meet! I got my name Miss Piggy because when I get excited, I snort just like a little piggy! I also snort like a piggy when I eat, probably because that's one activity that really excites me! Sometimes I even snort like a piggy when you pet me because, well, that's exciting too!! I get excited about mostly anything...life is just so exciting!

I'm excellent at listening to commands (most of the time!) and really aim to please! I just want you to give me your love and affection...oh yeah, and treats (yummy yummy treats)! I'm house-trained and crate-trained, and am great at sit, lay down, stay, give paw, high fives, speak, and can even hold treats on my nose! And while I'm very well trained (much more than the average dog I am told!), I do have some behaviors that need continued work. For example, I get so excited to meet new people that I sometimes jump on them until they give me their full attention. Woops! Also, I have a very good recall off leash (again, how many dogs can say this?) but I don't always come right away every single time, and if I see something exciting to chase...I will. I would love a patient parent who will continue to work with me on these behaviors using positive training methods, as those work really well with me!

Why am I looking for a new home? Well, my mom loves me to pieces, but her work and life schedule are very, very busy, and with 3 other dogs in the house, she just can’t give me the exercise and stimulation and attention that I need. She feels very badly about it, and also thinks it’s the reason there have been some dog-dog spats in the house of late (read more about that in the cohabitation section). She wants me to have a happy and fulfilling life, and feels that she cannot give that to me as much as she’d like and as much as I deserve, so wants to see if she can find me a home where I will have more exercise and more 1-1 attention with the humans!

Cohabitation:

I'm great with kids, as you can see from the photos!

I've lived with other dogs since I was a puppy and currently have three doggy siblings. We've lived together for over two years and get along very well the overwhelming majority of the time, though I have had a few doggy spats/scuffles from time to time (which never resulted in injuries to either dog). My mom thinks these scuffles are probably related to me not getting enough exercise, attention, and stimulation. My mom can tell you more about that by phone if you'd like, but she thinks I would be happy either sharing a home with another nice, friendly, calm dog, or being someone's one-and-only pooch. I would LOVE to have all your attention and snuggles to myself!

I have a high prey drive and therefore need to live in a home without cats please!

Ideal Home:

My ideal home would be a place with a warm comfy bed and lots of love! I just want tons of attention and affection from my humans. I also want exercise and play time every day!!

If you think you would like to share your home with me, please fill out an adoption application and the rescue folks will forward it to my owner who will make all the decisions about my placement.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
