Prancer Has Been Adopted!
Hi! My name is Prancer, and I am an adorable, sweet, loving, bouncy, enthusiastic, and affectionate, 3-year old, 42-pound, neutered male, Viszla/ Greyhound mix!
Until recently I was in a very loving home, but my family fell on hard times. We lost our home and they had no choice but to surrender me to a high-kill shelter. It was very hard for them to let me go, and told the shelter folks the most wonderful things about me, like I am friendly and playful, I get along well with other dogs, and that I know commands like sit, lie down, paw, high five, and speak! As if that is not enough, I am housetrained too!
They asked that I be given lots of love and attention but, sadly, due to shelter overcrowding, I was put on the “kill list” rather quickly.
My story touched everyone at Cayuga Dog Rescue so much that they knew that they had to save me. Boy, am I glad they did because I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be in a home again!
My foster mom learned very quickly that everything my previous family said about me is true! I am an incredibly affectionate and playful boy who loves nothing more than a belly rub and a snuggle! I am an entertaining and enthusiastic player who likes to chase balls, play tug, and shake the stuffing out of soft toys. My foster mom says I am both graceful and goofy. She also says I am very good on a leash and that I have the most adorable prance when I am on a walk! And . . . I bounce when I run!
I have wonderful house manners. I am not a barker, and I am very gentle with the 3-year old boy in my foster home. I also currently live with 2 older dogs who (truth be told) can be a bit grumpy and don’t always want to play with me. I am respectful of them and find a human to play with instead, or simply entertain myself for a while. If you have a dog that would like to play with an exuberant dog like me, that would be great but I am just as happy spending time with and playing with people. So, as long as you have time to be with me, I would be very happy. I would also make a wonderful jogging partner. The rescue folks think that I am excitable because I am part sight hound, so I should not go to a home with cats.
I know no one is perfect, but I really am as close to it as they come with no behavior issues. And you must admit I'm awfully cute too! I bond very quickly to my people and would love nothing more than be in a loving home of my own. Please help make this wish come true so I can start my new life as soon as possible.
