Reynolds Has Been Adopted!

Hi! My name is Reynolds, and I am the sweetest, most loving dog you could ever hope to find!

Background:

I was picked up as a stray, and if you can imagine…never claimed! The shelter staff couldn’t believe it because I was so sweet and loving and had such lovely manners and was housebroken…I had clearly been someone’s pet, but how I got lost and why they never found me will remain a sad mystery. I was in the shelter in KY from mid-August through the beginning of October, when I was thankfully pulled out and placed in temporary foster care by a wonderful rescuer who answered the shelter’s desperate pleas for assistance due to massive overcrowding. Once she saw my sweet face she just had to take me! I spent 2 weeks at this temporary residence and then caught a ride north to my awesome foster home in Elmira on October 18th… hooray!!!

Personality:

I am just the sweetest boy ever!!!! My foster mom cannot say enough wonderful things about me, or get enough of my sweetness!! My tail has not stopped wagging since my arrival, and I fit into my new surroundings immediately, as though I’d been there forever… I have the typical Lab “Velcro” personality-- I love to follow you around and be as close as possible to you! I also absolutely LOVE affection and to give sweet kisses! I’m a very happy-go-lucky, go with the flow type of boy.

I have yet to bark, whine, cry or tease for anything, but I will nudge you with my head for more petting when you stop! I follow you everywhere, so am often underfoot—sometimes you’ll catch me gazing lovingly at you, or just curiously watching whatever it is that you’re doing!

I’m completely housebroken, I love to go for walks (I’m working on my leash skills, as I tend to pull a bit, but nothing outrageous), I enjoy car rides, I eat all of my meals nicely, and I know sit, shake and I take treats nicely! I get along just fine with my canine foster brothers, but I don’t really need doggy siblings. One positive of me being an only dog in the house is that I would get all of your love and attention, and that might suit me just fine!

I have good manners in the house, I don’t chew on anything I shouldn’t, so am find left loose in the house when you’re not there. I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body, and I love everyone I meet!

Medical:

It’s suspected that I spent excessive time in a crate in my past life, as my rear legs and hips are weak and lack muscle tone, and I tend to favor my right rear leg… however that certainly doesn’t slow me down or limit my activity in the least! I’m still a bouncy, active, energetic boy!

Ideal Home:

My only requirement is for someone who will dote on me, give me lots of affection, attention, and simply love me to pieces. I’m a very patient, gentle, quiet, low maintenance gentleman, and would be fine sharing a home with other pets or being the only furry friend. … so I really need a companion-seeking home, in which I’ll be cuddled and snuggled to my heart’s desire… and then some!

If you are interested in adopting Reynolds, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
