Taylor has been adopted!

***Taylor is not a CDR dog and has not been evaluated by CDR. This is a courtesy posting for Taylor's current caretaker, who will make all adoptive decisions. Please see the bottom of the bio for information on how to apply for Taylor!***

Hi! My name is Taylor, and I am a beautiful, sweet, people-loving, spayed female Golden Retriever mix girl!

History:

I came from a small, super icky shelter in a very rural area of western KY where I had been found stray. No one ever came looking for me, which is awfully hard for me to understand because I'm such a nice girl and I love people so much! Well, that’s ok, because just before I was going to be put to sleep due to shelter overcrowding, I was rescued by a super nice rescue lady in KY, and have been enjoying life in a very nice kennel since while I await a forever adoptive home!

We’re hoping for a home in central NY, because word on the street down here is that that is where the nicest, best people live! I want a home with one of them!

Personality:

I’m quite a lovey sort of girl. I love people so much, will pretty much walk up to anyone and give them puppy dog eyes, beseeching them to pet me! I also love to lean into you, which is my way of snuggling, and also a way of encouraging you to pet me and love me back.

I love belly rubs, and basically love pretty much any sort of attention you’d like to give me. I haven’t been taught too many things, but if you wanted to take me to a positive training class, I would be so excited!!! I’d love to learn, and all of the attention and treats that go with it would no doubt make me a star pupil.

I’ve got a lot of playful, happy energy, and do adorable and hilarious little pounces and play bows to try to get you to play with me. Especially when you come into the yard to get me to come back inside…that’s when I really turn on my adorableness, pouncing around, teasing, and seeing if you can resist my playful charms!

I like to play with toys, and will sometimes entertain myself (and you!) by tossing my rope toy in the air and then catching it with delighted enthusiasm. Much more fun to watch than TV I am told!

In warm weather, I love to play with the hose, jumping at the water coming out of it so I can get myself wet and cooled off!

Safety Issues:

I’ve been known to jump a 4-foot fence, so need to be either leash walked at all times, or inside a higher, secure fence.

Co-habitation:

I love all people, and I especially love kind, fun, friendly, and loving people!

I am terrific with cats!

I would do well as an only dog, but would also probably be happy sharing a home with a submissive male dog who is nice to me. I probably should not live with a female dog, or with a bossy male dog. Though, it’s important to note that I have been just fine meeting most any dog here in the yard of the kennel—I tend to pretty much ignore them.

Medical:

I’m a healthy girl! No medical issues to speak of!

Summary:

I am a terrific girl and am looking for a loving, fun, wonderful forever home to call my own. Even though I am in KY in a kennel at present, don’t worry about that. My rescuer will bring me up to meet you if you seem like the ideal person or family for me, so let the rescue folks worry about that part!

If you are interested in adopting Taylor, please fill out an online adoption application and the rescue folks will forward it to my current guardian!

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
