Lulu Has Been Adopted!

My name is Lulu, and I am so cute and teensy, you will go crazy for me!

Background:

I was adopted from a shelter from a super nice lady, but her cats had never lived with a dog, and even though I am a teensy thing, and was friendly and playful toward them, they were having none of it. They wouldn't eat, wouldn't come out from hiding, and were completely miserable with me in the house. We all decided that for their sake, I needed to find a new home!

Personality:

I am an outgoing, extremey friendy, playful, and affectionate little girl! I love people, and am very excited when they pay attention to me, pet me, love on me, and want to cuddle and hold me. I love it if they want to let me sleep in bed with them (but I'm ok on a dog bed right next to you if that is your preference). I love to snuggle next to you on the couch, and I follow you happily from room to room!

I'm curious and interested and engaging! I love to play with little stuffed toys, and I have this tiny little lamb who is my absolute favorite of all I carry him around and pounce on him and love to chase him if you toss him across the room for me.

I seem very laid back about change...as long as people are being nice to me, and are fun, I am very adaptable! I am totally housebroken, and am dying to learn some tricks!

The one thing I don't like very much is being left all alone. When my person leaves, I get a bit upset, and sometimes will leave a pee or poop accident right in front of the door. This is not a housebreaking issue, this is a bit of separation anxiety, and for this reason, the rescue folks are looking for a home for me where there is at least 1 other dog. This makes your leaving not quite so bad!

Co-habitation:

I LOVE playing with other dogs! There are 2 other small dogs in my foster home who have never played with each other (or really almost any other dogs) until I came on the scene. Within 2 minutes of my arrival, we were all 3 tearing around the fenced yard, play-bowing and chasing each other with such delight, it was a serious joy to behold! I have turned these 2 "non-playing" dogs into total playing dogs! I have so much fun with them and I am so happy to have put more fun into their relationship too! I'm told I'm just irresistible, and I guess it must be kind of true!

Summary:

I'm just a fabulous tiny little thing, looking for love and fun and companionship for the rest of my life. If you are interested in me, please read about the adoption process today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
