Nala (Beanie) Has Been Adopted!
Hi everyone my name is Nala (Beanie) and I am an extremely sweet, mellow, easygoing, inquisitive, cute-as-a bug, 10-11 year old, 60 pound Yellow Lab/Shepherd mix girl, and I am looking for a new home! My Dad died a few years ago and my mom now has dementia, and she can’t take care of herself, or me, anymore. No one else in the family could take me, but luckily a foster mom in the CDR program said she would foster me and help me find a new home. I am so grateful!
Things you should know about me…
- I am super sweet! I love people and always greet you wagging my tail very happily! I love to be by your side or lay on the floor next to you. I like being near to you, but am not anxious or needy about it. When you come home after being gone, or get up in the morning, I get very excited and do a little happy dance! Since I’m kind of short and waddly, my foster parents say it's extra funny, and also that in general, I am an enthusiastic and happy girl!
- I love affection! I love to have my belly rubbed and be petted! When I get petted and massaged, I snuggle up real close and sit there looking completely blissed out, snuffling and moaning and sighing happily! And I delight in giving nice small kisses if you let me. They’re not too wet, I’m NOT a drooly sort of girl! And I sneeze when I’m super happy which is a thing that only super cool dogs do!
- I am very well behaved and I am good at communicating what I want and need! I don’t do anything destructive in the house, I never chew on things or cause any problems. I whine at the door to let you know when I need to go out and do my business (I am totally housebroken), I lick my lips when I’m hungry, and I wiggle up to you or put my nose by your hand when it’s time for pets and cuddles! By the way, I LOVE food, but I am very good about not begging for nor stealing it!
- I can pull a little bit on leash, but will walk very nicely if you use a Sense-ible or Sense-ation or Easy Walk type harness. I love to track smells when I’m out on a walk, and will follow footprints in the snow as long as you let me! When I am in tracking mode, no hill is too high for me to climb, and no snow is too deep to stop me! My foster mom says it cracked her up when I happily trotted through foot-high snow I order to follow a great smell! I also love to go for car rides and am well behaved and settle in right from the start.
- My foster mom says I seem smart and curious! I always have an inquisitive look on my face and I watch her a lot with my head cocked trying to figure out what is going on. Super cute!! I know a few commands and will sit (sometimes!) and stay if told. I sleep through the night and get up when everyone else does.
- I am very peppy and do not act my age and am in very good health!
- I am great with kids. There were always grandchildren visiting where I used to live, so am very used to, and like them!
I am looking for a home where I can get lots of attention and care and have fun sharing love and life with you! Since I was an only dog for most of my life, and I find it stressful to live with other pets, I am looking for a home where I will be the only and much loved pet. I am low key, very eager to please, and want so much to find a new home!
