Elvis Has Been Adopted!
Hi! My name is Elvis, and I am the friendliest, most easy-going, sweetest, and most fun dog around! I am about 2 years old, full-grown at a tiny 20 pounds (!) and am probably some type of Jack Russell Terrier mix (or Boston Terrier mix? or Parsons Terrier mix?)
I was saved from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee, and the rescue folks were told that I was a “very nice dog” by the folks at the shelter there. But wow, did the rescue folks get a terrific surprise when I arrived and they found that I was not merely a “very nice dog…” in fact, it turns out that I am an unbelievably amazing, unusually fantastic, pretty darned near perfect dog!
The rescue director asked my current temp foster mom to tell you all about me and this is what she says:
Elvis is FRIENDLY! Elvis is just the sweetest boy, and LOVES everyone, dogs and people alike (not sure about cats but I honestly can't imagine an issue)... greets everyone enthusiastically, loves to be petted and will nuzzle right up to you immediately upon meeting you... not timid AT ALL....
Elvis is PLAYFUL! He is very playful with other dogs and people... he will instigate play as well as be a willing play participant.... with people play he likes to wrap himself around/under your arm and gently bite/gnaw at you (never hard, just playful!)... and with dogs, he enjoys playing tug of war, wrestle, chase, nibble... and will do just about anything silly to engage the other dogs in play.
Elvis is HAPPY! His tail always wags, and when he gets really excited he does this incredibly cute whole body wiggle! This happens when I first get up in the morning, or return home, or when we're saddling up for a walk.... he is SUCH am increidbly happy fella!
Elvis is WELL BEHAVED! He doesn't bark, whine, tease, or beg... he loves affection but isn't obnoxious about it... if people are busy or dogs aren't interested, he entertains himself with a toy or just curls up on the couch...
Elvis is NON AGGRESSIVE and NON POSSESSIVE! He will share toys, bones, treats, anything without issue, with both people and other dogs. He tends to eat slowly in the morning (excited to have us all up and around) and the other dogs will sit/lie down near his bowl just watching him (hovering) and he's not phased a bit. He's not a brat or selfish about attention either.... the more dogs involved in the lovefests, the merrier!!
Elvis is LEASH TRAINED! He walks OK on a leash! LOVES walks and does these little circles while walking... very adorable.
Elvis appears to be HOUSEBROKEN! I've only found 2 pee spots since he's been here, which could very well just be first-day marking (minimal amounts). He lets you know when he needs to go out and has never done any business or a real pee in the house.
Elvis is NON DESTRUCTIVE! He's loose in the house overnight and whenever I leave during the day... he's never gotten into ANYTHING.
Elvis likes CAR RIDES! And he rides wonderfully... Just curls up and you forget he's there. He is a darned sweet, adorable, perfect gentleman!!
Elvis will make a wonderful companion for any household... he of course loves other dogs, but would do well with just human companionship as there's plenty of it and he gets a chance at dog-dog play with friends’ dogs or at the dogpark or doggy daycare sometimes!
