Mattie Has Been Adopted!
Hi! My name is Mattie, and I am a ridiculously adorable and sweet, 2 year old, 10 pound, spayed, female Pomeranian/Papillion! I was rescued from a shelter in Tennessee and am loving life in my fabulous CDR foster home!
The main thing to know about me is that I love people. And people’s laps! My favorite thing in the world is to sit on your lap, nuzzle in your neck, and snuggle on the couch with you. I love being with people, and am really hoping for a situation where I’m not left alone for massive amounts of time all by myself.
I’m housebroken, walk nicely on leash, enjoy sniffing around in a fenced yard, and am really good with other dogs! I know some tricks, like if you say, “Sit pretty!”, I sit up with both paws in the air, sort of like a prairie dog! I have beautiful silky fur, and enjoy my “spa treatments,” which is what I call it when my foster mom brushes my hair out. It feels so good! And since my hair is long and silky, you would probably want to run a brush through it for a few minutes pretty much every day to keep it looking nice. It’s good bonding time!
I’m a smart little cutie, and if you wanted to take me to positive, fun, dog training classes, we could have a blast, but I’m happy just hanging out at home with you too. I like to be a part of things, so if you are cooking, I like to curl up on a dogbed in the kitchen and watch, and if you’re watching TV or reading, I like to snuggle in right alongside you. I’d love to sleep in bed with you, but if you don’t love that idea, you could probably convince me to sleep next to you on a dogbed.
I’m a really fantastic little girl! I have shown absolutely no behavioral issues since coming to my foster home, and am such a delight that everyone that comes to visit falls in love with me! They promise me that my forever home will turn up soon….I hope they’re right!
If you are interested in adopting Mattie, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.
