Rudy Has Been Adopted!
Hi, my name is Rudy, and I am a super friendly, waggy-waggy, happy, loving and affectionate, smart and eager to learn, 10-12 month old, neutered male Plott Hound mix!
I was pulled from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee at the very last moment, and had quite a journey to get here! There were so many people throughout TN and KY who pitched in to save my life, it's really amazing. I feel so lucky and am loving my new life in New York!
I'm a very playful little guy...I love playing with toys, chasing after balls, finding sticks in the yard (awesome!), and running around with my tongue hanging out of my mouth and delight spilling out of my eyes. I also love going for nice long walks and hikes (and I walk very nicely with a no-pull harness!), though with my short fur, I really need a nice fleece jacket or I get too cold!
I'm still very much a puppy, and like to put everything in my mouth (sticks, balls, my walking harness, my nice fleece jacket, your arm, your hands...you get the picture!) but I am very smart and very eager to learn so I should sail through the rest of my puppy time quite nicely with your positive training help!
I'm fabulous with other dogs...playful and easygoing, confident, but deferential too. When you throw a stick in the yard and there is another dog there who wants to get it also, I will run over toward it, but then back off so the other dog can get it even though I really would like to get it for myself! I'm told this is very nice of me, and that makes me happy.
I've only been here for a week, but the rescue folks will tell you lots more about me as they learn more. If you would like to adopt me, please fill out an online adoption application and live near Ithaca, Syracuse, Elmira, or Binghamton. The rescue does home visits on all applicants, and can only consider folks where they have volunteers.
