Mickey Has Been Adopted!

Hi my name is Mickey and I am an adorable, affectionate, funny, silly and playful, 3 year old, 15 pound, neutered male Pug mix!

I'm definitely one of those "big dogs trapped in a little dog's body!" I LOVE to be the center of attention and I have a wonderful playful, loving, happy energy! I am amazing with people and am fantastic with other dogs. I love playing with you and with other dogs and I also love toys!

I have been waiting for my forever home for quite a while, which is shocking to the rescue folks because I am such an incredibly sweet and adorable little guy...they thought I would find a home in a flash! No need to feel sad for me though...I'm being fostered at the greatest kennel ever, and I get to play with other dogs for much of each day, so I feel like I'm at a terrific doggy sleepaway camp!

I am smart, incredibly good-natured, and very responsive to what folks want me to learn. I now know to "sit" when I want attention instead of jumping up to get you to notice me, and I am very attentive when you have treats in your hand! :) I am a super playful pup, and can play with the big dogs just as well as I play with the little'uns. I don't seem intimidated by any dog, as long as they are nice and interested in fun.

I would love to find a home where there is another dog with whom I will get to play, and where the person or people are fun-loving, active, and interested in teaching me more cool stuff! I would love to go to a positive training class and would probably do great at agility if you are into that. I love to be near you, so would love someone who wants a companion by their side for all of their adventures, and also just for hanging out.

If you think you might like to adopt me, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
