Juliet Has Been Adopted!
Hi my name is Juliet and I am a super adorable, super sweet, incredibly friendly, 2 year old, 60 pound, spayed female Australian Cattle Dog/Labrador Retriever mix!
CDR sprung me from an incredibly overcrowded shelter in KY just in the nick of time...Whew! They are so glad they picked me, because it turns out that I am a HUGE LOVEBUG! I absolutely love to give kisses, and they say I have one of the most, innocent and goofy demeanors around. I love interacting, love your attention, am all waggly and wiggly with playful happiness. I also love going for walks, and I love learning, which is good, because I don't even know "sit" yet!
I'm being fostered at a wonderful kennel, where I am getting good socialization with people and getting to spend lots of time running and playing with all of the other dogs during the daytime. It's a ton of fun, and I have been great with all of the dogs here. I do have a very "rough-and tumble" play style though, (that's the Lab in me) and with my excited enthusiasm, it's better for me to play with other big dogs like me (I don't want to accidentally overwhelm one of the littler ones).
I keep being told that I am super cute! I have soft white fur with these awesome patches of brindle coloring, lovely deep brown eyes, and the goofiest tongue around (which hangs out adorably when I am happy and playing!). I have lovely bouncy playful energy, and would love someone who wanted to take me for lots of walks and to the dogpark to play! I could probably learn to go jogging with you too!
I have a wonderful temperament, but need someone to help me learn basic things like not jumping up on people, not getting up on counters, waiting patiently to go out for a walk, etc. I am smart and motivated to learn (if you have treats!) and will repay your efforts a hundred times over. I would be a great addition to a family who already has a playful dog, but I would also be fine as an only dog if you are active and make sure I have lots of doggy playtime at the park or with your friend's dogs.
Since I am staying at the kennel for fostering, we're not sure about my house training, but the rescue folks promise that house training is a snap for dogs like me and they bet I will have it mastered within 2-4 weeks of being in a new home (if the people teach me correctly, and the rescue folks will show you how to do it!).
If you think you might like to adopt me, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.
