Jenny Has Been Adopted!

Hi everyone! I'm Jenny and I’m a sweet little silver-colored Pomeranian. I’m guesstimated (by the vets) to be about 8 years young, and I have lots of energy and lots of love to share! I was saved from a high-kill shelter in KY where I was facing euthanasia due to severe overcrowding. I have been in a great CDR foster home for a few weeks now and am LOVING LIFE!!

I am a very affectionate little girl. I’m happy to be scooped up and carried around, or to sit on your lap. I love having my head scratched and my belly rubbed. So much so that if you stop with the wonderful petting, I might just give you a little nudge to ask you to keep at it!

I like to run and play, although I can get a little nervous and shy sometimes. I’m pretty quiet, though I like to bark a happy hello when you come in the door! It’s just my way of saying, "I’m so happy you’re home!" My foster mom works all day and I’m very good at being left at home for a full work day. I’m completely house-trained and am content to spend my time relaxing on my bed or on the couch.

I’m great with other dogs--at least the ones who are older or mellow like me. I’ve become great friends with my foster mom’s other dog, a Cocker Spaniel. We run around the back yard together and snuggle together on her bed.

My foster mom is trying to get me to play with toys, which I have never seen before in my life!. I’m not too sure about how it works quite yet, but it seems like it might be fun. In truth, I’d rather work on learning tricks for treats because I love treats (and learning is pretty cool too)!

I was checked out at the vet (exam plus full blood work panels including thyroid tests) and they say "everything looks great!" I had lost some fur in the past and the vet can't tell why or if it will grow back, but i have plenty of great soft fur for your (and my!) petting pleasure. I'm a sweetheart of a girl, looking forward to a fabulous retirement home.

If you think you might like to adopt me, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
