Charlotte Has Been Adopted!
Hi everyone! My name is Charlotte and I am an extremely friendly, deeply affectionate, and very silly, 4 year old, 80 pound, Great Pyrenees mix girl! My foster mom calls me Charlotte Bean-I am not sure why, (I don’t look like a bean!), but I love that I have a pet name.
I arrived here a few months ago after being rescued from a high kill shelter in Tennessee and have settled in incredibly well. I’m living with 3 other dogs (1 big, 2 small) and get along great with all of them. I am very playful with the big dog (also a Great Pyrenees) and prefer just to hang around (but not play with) the smaller dogs. I’m gentle and goofy. I am also very sweet with the cat who lives here, and I would love a home with another bigger sized dog who wanted to play with me.
I’m incredibly affectionate and loving. I love to give my foster mom kisses and nuzzle her. I love to be petted, kissed and every once in a while will enjoy getting my belly rubbed. Sometimes I give my paw just as a little gesture to say thank you.
I also love going for walks. As soon as I hear the sound of the leash, I am ready to go! I’m not one of those dogs who needs huge amounts of exercise, but a daily walk or two makes me incredibly happy. I also love having a fenced yard, which is good as we Great Pyrenees dogs are not trustworthy off-leash.
My foster mom tells me I have a great sense of humor and am very funny. I’m also a bit of a silly prankster…I like to find an item of clothing and carry it around the house in my mouth! I especially like carrying pajamas, though I like a good dryer sheet, a sock, and the occasional t-shirt. I don’t chew them up, I just like to carry them around! I also confess to being a counter-surfer (I love love love food—bread is my favorite), so if you adopt me, you can’t leave food out on the counters or table (unless you’d like me to eat it). I also crack my foster mom up by sometimes not sitting when she asks, but then sitting when she tells one of the other dogs to sit!
I am good at keeping an eye on the neighborhood and will let you know if anything seems out of place. Also as we Great Pyrenees are known to do, I keep a very watchful eye on the house during the night. You know how in cartoons, the dogs actually say “Woof”? Well, I actually bark by saying “Woof!”
I am a super wonderful, loving, funny, gorgeous girl. I am hoping for a fun, loving home, with another dog in it and with people who want to do fun activities with me like walking, hiking, taking classes, and such. If you think you might like to adopt me, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.
