Snuggles Has Been Adopted!

Hi! My name is Snuggles, and I am a super adorable, incredibly affectionate, 15 pound, 2 year-old, spayed, female Pug/Chihuahua mix!

I am a serious people lover. I love to cuddle on your lap as much as you’ll let me, I love to give you one kiss at a time, but no more, so you don’t end up with a slobbery face, and I love belly rubs! I also love your attention and just being near you. I am totally housebroken, but haven't been taught any commands yet, so I am really looking forward to the fun of learning lots of new things in the future! I hear that training comes with lots of attention and lots of praise and treats, and I say, "sign me up!" :)

I was found stray, seeming very lost on a highway down in KY. My nipples were huge, it was clear that I had recently had puppies. The shelter folks in KY guess that after I had my puppies, somebody took me to the highway and left me there. I know, totally horrible, right? But then again, I got rescued and have been surrounded by the greatest people ever since, so I'm incredibly happy and grateful. Sometimes the worst thing can turn out to be the best.

My foster parents say I am really easy to have around. I sleep as long as you do and don't wake you up until the alarm goes off. I look fabulous in the 3 little outfits that I have...a pink sweater, a gray sweatshirt, and a fancy denim jacket. I get along well with other dogs, but despite my size, am quite confident with them! I am sharing my foster home with Jersey, a 75 pound Great Dane mix, and guess who is the boss of whom? Yuppers...I am the boss! But I am game to play with dogs of all sizes...even ones who are gobs bigger than me like Jersey! I do bark at other dogs when they are far away but am always friendly and ready to be a buddy when they are up close. Ditto with people... I do usually bark (and/or growl) at approaching people whom I don't know, but if they are willing to come over and meet me, I am all smiles and affection. Most people aren't too scared of my barky-growly thing, how scared of an adorable little pup wearing a pink sweater can you really be?

As for exercise, I like short walks and enjoy running around in my fenced yard, but don't seem to need more than that. Speaking of movement...I am great on car rides! I just curl up and go right to sleep, and am willing to go potty immediately when you stop at a rest stop. Easy breezy!

The only thing I really seem to dislike is the camera. That's why I look all scared or mad in all of my photos--every time my foster dad tries to do a photo shoot I get very unhappy. Guess you will have to wait to see my happy smiley face until we meet in person.

If you think you might like to adopt me, please fill out an online adoption application and live close to Ithaca , Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
