Frodo Has Been Adopted!
Hello! My name is Frodo, and I am a super adorable, silly, funny, affectionate, curious and wonderful, 2 year-old, neutered, male Dachshund/Beagle mix! I have a terrific , happy, playful personality and am a very loving, easygoing little guy.
I am friendly with every person I meet, but once I get to know you, I give you total love treatment! I follow my foster parents around the house, because I just like hanging out with them, and am always delighted to get petted, have my belly rubbed, or my head and face kissed! I have very, very soft fur…they say it’s as soft and lush as puppy fur, even though I’m not a puppy anymore. I like to trot up to my people, all waggly and smiling, and gently put my front legs up on them for some loving. And while I’m not usually invited to sleep on the bed with my people at night, they did let me one night, and I showed them what an amazing snuggler I am! I just curled up gently right up against them, and happily repositioned anytime they wanted to move around. They say I am the best nighttime snuggle buddy they have ever met.
I am very curious, and intently watch everything and everyone around me, which probably means that I am quite smart. I have just started learning a few things like “Sit” and “Wait” and am catching on pretty quickly. There is a doggy door in my foster home, and I figured that out in 3 seconds flat. I am totally housebroken and am fine in a crate (I eat meals in a crate) but am a perfect gentleman when left free to roam the house when my foster parents are at work.
I am fabulous with other dogs and am being fostered in a house with 5 of them (3 large, 2 small). I love running around in the fenced yard with them and am a fantastic wrestling and “chase me!” buddy for dogs both large and small. I fancy myself a tiny bit of a watchdog, and do bark at people when they come to the door or to the yard when I am outside.
As for play, I love chasing after toys that my people throw for me, and I pounce upon them (quite adorably) before settling down to chew on the toy I have just “caught.” So far, I have not chewed on anything that I shouldn’t, but my foster parents have 5 other dogs, so their house is fairly “puppy proofed” all the time (no shoes or personal items left around where any dogs could get them). I am allowed on some pieces of furniture in the house but not others, and I am figuring out the rules pretty well.
I have been given quite a few nicknames. “Colonel Mustard” is one that cracks up my foster parents, though they can’t explain why it fits me. Also “Snaggle Tooth” because one of my lower pointy teeth sticks out, giving me a snaggle tooth appearance sometimes. Also “Mr. Waggles” or “Wagglebutt” because I wag my whole body in delight so often. Can you tell they think I’m awfully cute?
There are no cats in my foster home, so we would have to do some cat testing if you are interested in me and have cats.
I am super healthy and up to date on vaccines and waiting to find a fun, happy, playful forever home!
