Chester Has Been Adopted!
***Chester is not a CDR dog. This is a courtesy posting for his current owners, who will make all decisions about his placement. If you are interested in Chester, please fill out an online adoption application and the rescue folks will forward it to his current owners.***
Hi! My name is Chester, and I am a super cute, 4 year-old, neutered male, Maltese-Poodle mix!
I am a really good little boy in so many ways, I will make you laugh and smile and say “Awwww!” Squeaky toys are my favorite thing! I will fetch them and play with you as much as you like. I dance for treats and enjoy affection and scratches behind my ears. Since I am a quick learner, I know lots of commands, like, “Come, Stay, No, Get Busy, Down, and Go Night-Night.” Sometimes I even roll over, but only if I feel like it. I am good on a leash for walks and am completely potty trained. I am also crate trained, but if I am left loose in the house, I never get into trouble. When I feel comfortable with you and you are giving me loving pets, I will nose your hand whenever the petting stops since I love attention. I like playing outside, but will not bolt out the door unless you give me permission. I have a spring in my step and look like a stuffed animal! My coat is silky smooth. Few dogs are cuter. Did I mention that I don’t shed? I am always well-behaved for the groomer, too. And I am very healthy!
So, why am I looking for a new home? Well, I am a confident dog in some ways, but nervous and possessive in certain situations. And when I am in situations that make me tense, I can nip at people. I don’t cause big injuries-- it’s been little ones that need band-aids-- but still, I’m in a home with young kids, and that’s just not okay. Not for the people, and not for me either. I would do better in a very calm home with mellow people and predictable, quiet, calm routines. I would also do best in a home with people who understand my tricky areas (around food, “my special space”, and sometimes strangers approaching me too fast), and who will make sure that I’m not pushed beyond my limits of comfort.
I have so much potential and have so many wonderful qualities, I hope you will consider making me your next loving companion. I will bring you so much laughter and joy, I promise!
