Zoey Has Been Adopted!

Hi! My name is Zoey and I am a very adorable, very sweet, very friendly and exuberant, 7 month old, spayed, female Shepherd mix!

I spent my puppyhood sadly chained outside, neglected by my owners, getting almost no attention or care, and not even getting very much to eat. Luckily my not-nice owners didn't want me anymore, and a nice lady took me in and found me a great placement in the CDR foster program! Yay!!! Now I am getting LOADS of attention and care and training and loads of healthy, nutritious food! I walk around all day with a big smile on my face, so grateful for this 2nd chance.

I have a ton of great young energy, and I like going for walks and running around playing chase and wrestling with other dogs. I love love love people and am so excited when I get their attention! I love to give kisses and snuggle with my people. I am also a big stuffed animal snuggler. Really! I love my stuffed animals, and carry them around with me wherever I go (even outside to potty!). I have a special spot for each of them inside my crate, and bring them in and arrange them nicely a few times a day. I guess I think they are my babies!

I am eager to learn and eager to please and my foster parents say I'm pretty smart! I'm already housebroken and have learned some basic commands like sit and down. I'm also now crate trained, and do a good job (mostly) of coming when called! I'm in a foster home with 3 other great dogs and we are all good friends. There are also a bunch of cats in the house, but I'm not very good with them, and should not live in a home with cats. I'm a super sweetheart of a girl and am so excited to find my forever home soon

I'm healthy and up to date on shots and putting on weight (I was so incredibly skinny when I came to my foster home!). If you think you might like to adopt me, please read about the adoption process today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
