Molly Has Been Adopted!
Here is an update on Molly, who has now been with me for a month. She's a great dog and fits in tremendously. We have bonded, so that when we walk in the woods near my home, or just around outside, I no longer need to leash her. She comes when I call and usually keeps me in her line of vision. I still leash her for our longer road walks and she's a perfect lady. We all love her, and she gets along well with my daughter's dogs, even romping with the female and playing with sticks. She is super tolerant of my granddaughter, who loves to pet Molly's thick fur. Molly enjoys hugs and kisses, of which she gets many. She's just perfect!
Hi everyone! My name is Molly, and I am an 8-10 year-old, 65+ pound, spayed female Lab/Spitz mix and I am the most loving, sweet, gentle, affectionate, friendly girl ever!!
I was surrendered with my best friend Leo (please check him out too!) when our family lost their home and had to give us away. We love each other very much, and would love to be adopted together, but if we each find separate homes, that would be ok too.
I am very sweet and mellow, and I love affection. When you pet me, I put my head in your lap and look at you with my sweet, soulful eyes. I sometimes gently nudge you for more, or I just settle in by your feet. I like to be around people, so I often follow my foster mom and dad from room to room in a quiet, calm way.
I am a smart girl, and know quite a few tricks! I can do sit, lay down, spin, speak, and shake. I need some help walking nicely on leash, so my foster parents are working on that with me. My foster mom says I have the thickest and most beautiful coat she has ever seen, and she is happy that I don't shed much as long as I am brushed regularly.
I am with 2 other dogs (plus my buddy Leo) and 3 cats in my foster home and am great with them all. I have quite a bit of playful energy when I am with other dogs, and have little interest in the cats. I love food! One of the only situations in which I have barked since coming to my foster home has been when I have been given especially yummy wet food as a treat! I have a deep, soft, low, bark of gratitude that my foster mom says is terrific. I love to eat, but like my buddy Leo, I could probably stand to lose a few pounds!
I'm very healthy and absolutely delightful. I will melt your heart! If you think you might like to adopt me, please read about the adoption process today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.
