Luna Has Been Adopted!
Hi! My name is Luna, and I am an incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate, 8 year-old, spayed, female Newfoundland mix!
My foster mom says I'm a "big squishable teddy bear," and that I'm absolutely delightful to live with. I like to follow my people from room to room, and plop down on the floor next to them (preferably on a nice soft dogbed). I come to get petting from time to time, but I'm not at all demanding about it, I'm darn happy just to be near you.
I do a little happy dance when my foster parents are getting my meals ready...they say it's adorable, though I'm not particularly light on my feet. :) I also can do this great happy howl when it's time to eat or it's time to go for a walk...it's my way of saying "yippee! I'm so happy!" and my foster parents love it.
I am living with 2 other dogs and some cats...I get along super well with the dogs...we hang together in a mellow way in the house, and enjoy taking long walks together outside. I like to cavort and play with them, and have really good energy outdoors, though am content to be super relaxed when indoors. I pretty much leave the cats alone as they have swatted at me when I have gone over to say hello to them, but I could probably be buddies with friendlier cats.
I know "come" and "get in your bed" commands quite well. My foster parents try not to do much "sit" or "down" with me, as I act a little achey when getting up from those positions. I'm definitely overweight, so it might be my weight that makes me struggle slightly when getting up, or it could be the normal aches and arthritis that most of us dogs get around my age. I'm on a very healthy diet (so am slowly losing some weight) and am starting on joint supplements (they taste like liver, yum!), so whichever it is (or if it's both), i should be feeling better and better over time.
My foster parents say I'm just wonderful, and that I really try to do everything they ask of me. It's true! I've had full blood panels done and I'm as healthy as they come. I'm also vaccinated, spayed, fully housebroken, and getting into good shape.
